The Classic Custom Organic Mattress is ideal for sleepers ready to experience the benefits of a fully customizable organic sleep system.
Built with 8 inches of pressure-relieving GOLS-certified organic latex, the Classic features Obasan’s modular multi-zone design, allowing your mattress to be tailored based on your weight, sleep position, and body type. A firm latex base provides consistent support, while adjustable zoning improves alignment and reduces pressure at key areas of the body.
Finished with a removable organic wool and latex topper, the Classic delivers balanced comfort, breathability, and flexibility, making it the perfect introduction to customizable organic sleep.
For best performance, your Obasan mattress should be placed on a firm, supportive foundation with built-in breathability, such as wooden slats or a ventilated platform base.
Slatted Base/Foundation
We recommend a slatted mattress base or foundation with:
- Metal or wooden slats spaced no more than 3” apart
- Slats that are 2” - 6” wide
- A centre support bar running vertically down the middle of the frame
- One or more centre legs to further support the centre beam. This becomes especially helpful for larger mattresses (Queen, King, or California King).
Solid Wood Base/Foundation
If your foundation has a solid wood surface, it must include ventilation for airflow. We recommend:
- Vent holes approximately 1” in diameter
- Spaced about 12-15” apart
ensure it has holes or vents for recommended breathability. We typically recommend holes of about 1" diameter every 12-15" apart.
